It's a solid, heavy cotton cardigan. Marked unisex, but sizing true to women's.This is why I love American Apparel, though the online return policy sucks.

I bought a sweater from American Apparel. It's a unisex tri-blend rib cardigan. I bought an extra small because it's unisex and I'm pretty tiny. But I want it to fit baggy.
There are always directions on the tag on how to wash and care for it. Have you looked at that? If not, is it a colored sweater or just white? If it is just white wash it in hot water on gentle cycle of your washer machine, and lay it out to dry.

They are very high quuality cotton clothes, but cotton never holds up as well as wool, from any manufacturer.
