Carasquillo said she doesn’t have anywhere else to go. She’ll just wear her coats and hat inside and try not to worry.
“Well, if you start worrying, that’s when stuff happens, so you just gotta’ be calm,” she said.

Hey, i had my daughter in winter of 09 so of course she had to wear a hat home from the hospital, but i was just wondering if a summer baby has to wear a hat home too. Im 19 weeks and due July 28th. So would i have to put my baby in a hat still? Wouldnt that overheat them? And yes i know this isnt a pregnancy question but more people come to this section.

Right after the baby is born they will put a hat on it but if it is hot outside the baby shouldn’t need the hat if they are dressed correctly.
It depends on outside temps. You should certainly protect her from the sun and there are many choices out there.
My son was born in June, and we didn’t put him in a woolly hat, the weather was scorching! We did have a little sun hat though, just to keep the sun off his delicate little bald head and the sun out of his eyes! If you have an infant seat with a canopy over it, that will do the same job as a sun hat, so, as long as the weather’s warm, you can probablygo without the hat. Doesn’t hurt to have a little cotton one packed just in case though, cotton is light and cool during the summer and will protect that little head from the hot sun.
